Why Commercial Pools Are Different
Commercial pool painting is not the same as painting a residential backyard pool. Commercial pools are typically larger, see heavier use, require more durable coating systems, and have tighter scheduling requirements because they serve large numbers of people. Many commercial facilities must open by a specific date — Memorial Day for outdoor pools, or a set schedule for year-round indoor facilities. We understand these constraints and build our project timelines accordingly. It is important to note that after applying epoxy or rubber-based pool paint, the coating requires a minimum cure time of 7 days for outdoor pools and 10 days for indoor pools before the pool can be refilled. We factor this cure time into every project schedule to ensure the coating is fully hardened before water contact.
Commercial pools also face more demanding water chemistry conditions due to higher bather loads, more aggressive chemical treatment, and continuous filtration. We recommend coating systems that can withstand these harsher conditions and provide the longest possible service life between repainting cycles.
